Depart from Quito or Banos for a 45 minute flight to the Amazon Rainforest. The small aircraft lands on a grass strip surrounded by jungle where guests are welcomed by the Huaorani (pronounced Waorani) tribe. From here, there is a one hour transfer by dug out canoe.
The Huaorani Eco Lodge consists of 5 palm thatched cabins situated in the rainforest and close to the river; each cabin is comfortable, simply furnished and has private shower and toilet (eco soaps/shampoo are provided to conserve the local area). There is a palm thatched dining area and shop for essentials, and a hammock house by the riverside.
We offer a 3 night itinerary which includes full board, local flights, transfers (from Quito or Banos) and all activities to observe the wildlife, learn the secrets of survival in the rainforest, and enjoy an insight into how the community live – a very special and unique experience. (Longer durations of up to 8 nights also available).
